❄️ Weather & School Update – Monday, January 26, 2026 ❄️
La Vernia ISD plans to hold classes as normal on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Although cold temperatures are expected during the early morning hours, district staff have checked buildings and campuses, and current assessments show that road and facility conditions are safe. 🚌 Buses will operate on their regular schedules, and all campuses will open at their usual times.
Extracurricular activities scheduled for Monday will continue as planned. Any weather-related changes will be communicated directly by coaches or program directors if necessary.
While conditions are safe for school, we ask everyone to use extra care on roadways, sidewalks, walkways, and steps, as some areas may be slightly slick due to the cold temperatures. Families are encouraged to allow extra time for morning travel and to ensure students bundle up for the cold weather. 🧤🧣
Thank you for your continued support, and please travel safely. 💙

We want to clarify that KSAT has incorrectly reported that La Vernia ISD is closed. At this time, no decision has been made.
❄️ Our district is closely monitoring weather conditions and will make a decision later today.
📣 Once a decision is finalized, we will share updates directly with families via email, our website, and social media.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students and staff. 💙

LVISD is closely monitoring the weather forecast. An update will be shared tomorrow, if needed, via email and social media.
Thank you for your continued understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. 💙

The City of La Vernia has let us know that the intersection of FM 775 and Chihuahua Street was impacted by an accident involving an 18-wheeler on Friday night.
Due to damage and ongoing safety assessments, the intersection is expected to remain closed until at least Tuesday. With school traffic resuming tomorrow, families and staff are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during morning and afternoon commutes.
We appreciate the City of La Vernia’s continued work to address this situation and thank our community for their patience.

We had an AMAZING time celebrating the brand-new addition at La Vernia Intermediate School on January 8—and it’s officially OPEN! 🏫💙
What’s new? Glad you asked! 😄
Here’s a peek at what’s now part of the campus:
🧑🏫 14 shiny new classrooms
🔧 4 totally upgraded classrooms
🧪 A brand-new science lab (hello, experiments!)
🧩 3 awesome special education classrooms
🛠️ A teacher workroom that teachers LOVE
🗂️ New offices + a conference room
