At last night’s board meeting, we reviewed academic performance data, teacher and parent survey results, and teacher retention trends related to the 4-day instructional week. After two and one-half years of implementation, La Vernia ISD will continue the 4-day week for both the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years. The Board adopted the academic calendars for both years.
Students continue to meet or exceed regional and state averages in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. From 2024 to 2025, performance remained steady or improved across nearly all subjects. The 4-day model is producing strong academic results.
Based on the past two years' survey data, there is overwhelming support. 99% of teachers report the 4-day week has been positive. Parent satisfaction survey results increased from 83% to 96%.
Teacher retention remains strong, reinforcing campus stability and continuity for students.
We will continue monitoring data and feedback to ensure student success remains the priority. We appreciate the partnership of our students, families, and staff as we remain focused on academic excellence and student well-being.
