Message from Dr. Trent Lovette
The following important message is from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Trent Lovette:
Greetings LVISD Family,
As we enter into this season of peace, joy, and gratitude, I want to reach out to each of you and tell you, as I’ve said many times before, how grateful I am to have the opportunity to serve as Superintendent of La Vernia ISD. The past 9 months have been both exhilarating and challenging. With any change of administration, those challenges will come, and it is easy to get caught up in the difficulties associated with change. However, this season offers us the chance to reflect on the many difficulties we have undergone in the recent past, to refocus our attention on the abundant blessings we have in our school district and in our community, and to recommit to meeting each challenge head on with a renewed dedication.
Moving forward into 2019, your school board and I are committed to making La Vernia ISD the best school district in the State of Texas! Together, we are moving forward with that one goal in mind. In 2019, we will establish advisory groups made up of administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and members of our community. These groups will be charged with the task of finding the best ways to improve our school district so that we can provide the best resources, training, and education possible for our students and employees. Using the recommendations of these advisory groups, the board and I will engage in extensive strategic planning to ensure that LVISD becomes a positive example for school districts around the state.
Making the La Vernia Independent School District the best of the best will require all of us working together, putting the past behind us, and keeping our eyes squarely on the future. Your school board and I are determined to move forward, and we need your help, support, and commitment to do the same.
As I said in my address to staff and students during our Fall Convocation, I believe in LVISD, and I know that you do, too. WE believe in our students. WE believe in our faculty and staff. WE believe in our administrators. And WE believe in our power as a community, standing together to bring about the positive change we want to see! Together, we will embody the BEARS spirit as we move forward, committing ourselves to boldness, empowerment, ambition, resilience, and selflessness!
Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year to you all!
