    Dear Junior Parents-

On April 13, 2021, La Vernia High School will be administering the SAT to all juniors.  Students will be automatically registered, there is no action needed by you, the parent, or by the students.

If your student is in either Special Education or has a 504 plan, they may be eligible for accommodations for the SAT.  Accommodations are limited and eligibility is evaluated by College Board, the company that administers the SAT.  If you wish to have accommodations for the SAT you will need to email Ms. Castilleja-Decker, the high school counselor, at:

    suzette.castilleja@lvisd.org

A form will be sent to you which must be filled out and returned.  All accommodations must be requested by February 19, 2021.

  • LVHS Parents,

It has come to the attention of La Vernia High School that Ascender Teacher Portal (Gradebook)  has issues with student grades and averages.  Teachers have reported to administration concerns about inaccuracies in grades for assigned work and in averages.  If a parent were to check on grades in the Ascender Parent Portal it is possible averages may be incorrect.  Not all teachers have reported problems.  LVISD is in contact with ESC Region 20 about the issues and is working with Region 20 to correct these issues.  The week of September 8th teachers will work on informing students correct grades and averages in classes.  Region 20 is the entity that provides and supports the running of Ascender Teacher Portal for our campus.

Region 20 is planning on downloading a patch that should take care of the issues.  The download will occur over the Labor Day Weekend.  Once the download is complete grades and averages should be correct.

La Vernia High School will send out an update once the download of the patch has been completed.

    Thank you,

    The LVHS Team
