As the first person in his family to go to college, Dr. Lovette believes that education can change lives. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas Christian University, as well as a Master's degree in Educational Administration with Principal and Superintendent certifications from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Dr. Lovette has been a Texas educator for over 22 years, serving as a teacher, coach, principal, and district administrator. Prior to being named Superintendent of Schools by the Board of Trustees for La Vernia ISD in April 2018, Dr. Lovette served Chief of Governance, Policy and Program Evaluation for Crowley ISD located near fort Worth. After joining the Crowley ISD administration in 2003, Dr. Lovette helped CISD grow from 6,500 students to their current enrollment of over 15,000 students. While with Crowley ISD, Dr. Lovette served in a wide range of leadership roles, including Deputy Superintendent and Chief of School Leadership, Executive Director of School Operations, Chief School Administration Officer, and Principal for North Crowley High School. In 2008, he was named the State of Texas ATPE Administrator of the Year and was featured as the Keynote Speaker at Leadership Week for Yale University.

Dr. Lovette is married to Amanda, who is a pediatrician. They have two sons; Ethan attends the University of Alabama and Joshua attends the University of Arkansas. In his free time, Dr. Lovette enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, golfing, tennis, fishing, and traveling. He is also a die-hard college football fan.
