Student Nutrition Plan

  • We are excited to announce that LVISD will be able to continue providing breakfast and lunch for our students while we are closed due to COVID-19 precautions!

To remain in compliance with Governor Abbott's social distancing guidelines and reduce the amount of exposure our families and staff may have to illness, we will transition to a single meal pickup time from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM beginning on Monday, March 23. Both lunch for the current day and breakfast for the next day will be available for pickup at the same time.

For example, if you would like breakfast for your child on Monday, March 23, you will be able to receive it at lunchtime on Friday, March 20. Meal pickup will continue to occur at the Intermediate campus bus lane (369 FM 1346 South, La Vernia, TX 78121). Student meals will be provided Monday-Friday through April 3.

As a friendly reminder, all current LVISD students are welcome to use this service, but the student(s) must be present at pickup and able to provide their student ID number in order to receive a meal. Each meal will come at no charge to our students regardless of meal eligibility status and your LVISD student does not need to attend school at our Intermediate campus to receive a breakfast or lunch. Milk will be available at each meal; a full menu is available for viewing and download below. Please note that due to federal regulations, we are unable to provide meals for adults.

Since our schools are closed, meals will be packaged to-go and our cafeterias will not be open during these times. Families are advised to stay in their cars and not enter any of our buildings during meal pick up; however, families that walk to the Intermediate School during a service time will be able to pick up meals for their students.

We look forward to continuing to meet the nutritional needs of our students!

Student Medication Pickup

  • Our Health Services staff understands that parents of students with medication in our campus clinics may be in need of them before our return from the closure, and we want to make getting them to you as easy as possible while keeping the health of all in mind.

If you are interested in picking up medications from your child’s campus, please call or email the nurses listed below and leave a message with your name and number, your child’s name, date of birth, grade, and name of the medication. The medications will only be given to the parent or guardian designated and they must show identification to receive the medication.

STUDENTS ATTENDING LV PRIMARY: Please contact nurse Christie Broadway at 830-779-6664 or email christie.broadway@lvisd.org.

STUDENTS ATTENDING LV INTERMEDIATE: Please contact nurse Kasey Dickson at 830-779-6644 or email kasey.dickson@lvisd.org.

STUDENTS ATTENDING LV JUNIOR HIGH OR LV HIGH SCHOOL: Please contact nurse Leslie Mulroney at 830-779-6634 or email leslie.mulroney@lvisd.org.

We hope you are doing well and appreciate your patience as we work through this challenging time together. Please remember to continue checking our Critical Updates page for current information and learning resources, and do not hesitate to contact our nurses if we may be of service in any way.

Wellness Information

  • District staff will continue our comprehensive disinfecting process in classrooms and high-traffic areas while we are closed to help fight the spread of illness and keep our facilities safe. We encourage you to join us in our health and wellness efforts by speaking to your child about these illness prevention measures:

    • Wash your hands regularly using soap and water for about 20 seconds.
    • If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth as much as you can.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick and stay home if you are sick.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
    • For additional steps to prevent the spread of illness, visit the CDC website.

Travel Advisory

  • If you or anyone in your household has traveled recently, especially via air or cruise ship, please follow the CDC guidelines regarding health monitoring and possible self-quarantine.
