Mrs. Watson attended school at South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas. She received a Paralegal certificate from Lamar University while working at the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office. After that, she was employed by various law firms. She has been employed in the education field for the past 28 years. First, she worked for Port Neches-Groves Independent School District, then Lackland Independent School District and now, La Vernia Independent School District since July 2016. She likes to work at LVISD because of the caring people and supportive staff. Mrs. Watson loves her duties of assisting the Superintendent and School Board.

Mrs. Watson’s husband of 40 years, Doug Watson, is a good Christian man, husband, and father. He had retired from Calumet Refinery in San Antonio, Texas, and had been in the oil refining industry since before they were married. They reside in La Vernia, Texas. They are members of First Baptist Church Floresville. Their son, Captain Benjamin Watson, is a harbor pilot and works as a pilot for the Corpus Christi/Port Aransas Pilots. He is an Aggie graduate. His wife, Stefani, is a nurse practitioner and they have been married five years and have two children. They reside in Rockport, Texas. Mrs. Watson's two precious grandchildren (one boy, one girl) are adored by her. She also has a lab mix puppy, "Trigger", who is a family member and greets Mrs. Watson each day when she gets home from work. He is always by her side when she and her husband work in their yard/garden, which they love. Their family likes sports, snow skiing, boating and fishing. They enjoy cruise vacations when possible.
