State Track & Field Meet Results

Congratulations to the boys and girls State Track & Field Qualifiers. Three La Vernia High School records were broken. Two medals were won.

Silver Medalist Abrahm Leija smashed the LVHS 3200 record by 16 seconds. Leija's winning time of  9:30.25 was good enough for the Silver. His time also finishes up third overall in the greater San Antonio area behind Churchill's Paul Snyder and  4A Gold Medalist Nathan Christianson of Boerne Champion.

Bronze Medalist Natalie Baker broke the LVHS record in the 300 hurdles by .15 seconds. She also finishes up third fastest in the greater San Antonio area behind Judson's Christina Holland and Roosevelt's Miara Cave.

Loren Smith placed fourth in the Discus and broke her own school record by 4 feet 1 inch with a throw of 126-9.

Trey Dunsirn placed fifth in the 3200.

Amy Gastauer, Stacy Stanush, Natalie Baker, and Mariah Brooks placed 8th in the 400 & 800 Relays.

Congratulations to these and the rest of the members of the 2009 Track & Feild Teams for another spectacular year! Way to go Bears!!!
